Cheers for the heads up :D

Anyone watched any of these so far?

Sky linked recording seems to have messed up with the odd times they are on so only caught a couple.

Missed the Landscapes one :(

So waddaya think?

Maybe I had rather elevated expectations but I think they are lacking a bit of substance. Easy viewing I guess.

Lord Lichfield is (was :( ) cool tho :notworthy Gave lots of constructive advice, and what a laid back chap he appeared to be.

No idea what the point and click cam is, but next one up look like my Fuji (Finepix S5000, 5500 or 7000 maybe?) and the DSLR... is that the 300D?

We could do with ntl+

The ntl digibox doesn't even have a timer

You can only set it tune to programmes in the EPG which only goes a couple of days ahead

Anybody record?? and could tranfer it to DVD?

I agree with MissyC, they are lacking in substance somehow. The sports one was a bit dull, the weddings one a little better, but the Litchfield one was better again.

Amanda Lamb certainly helps keep my interest :) and she did look mighty fine in the portraits which Paddy shot.

Haven't noticed the Landscapes one Missy so I'd better take a look through the EPG to see if/when it's on again as I had the whole series linked :(

Simon, I didn't keep any of the ones I'd recorded as I needed the space on my Sky+ box so deleted them after watching them...not sure how I would go about doing a transfer to DVD either as I don't have a VHS or DVD recorder...

Some people can link their computer to their Sky box and use the dvd burner off their pc.

No probs, I'll have a look on the :norty: sites tonight and see if I can find them.

I'd love to know where the rest of the series has gone!!! According to my Digiguide we still have Architecture, Kids, Holidays, etc. to come but when I look on the Sky EPG the programmes aren't there and my series link has disappeared...

I'll have a look on the torrent sites tonight and see if I can find them.

Anybody know the programme titles?

No sign of the rest of the series in the Sky+ EPG -- I even checked the A-Z listings and whilst there are lots of Hot Housewives, there's no Hot Shots, so it looks like the series has been binned. Pity.

Will if anyone can come up with the episode title's I'll have another look. I looked under under everything I could think of, I'm open minded, but jeeeeez, don't what ever you do look under "hot shots".

My link disappeared too. Did the same search on sky in the A-Z under speciality as documentaries didn't list hotshots. Bloomin eck... I didn't realise sky had so many xxx channels

Anyhow... went straight to channel 133 for Monday 5th, and lo and behold it's still listed there and was able to set it to record with programme linking... Will see what happens on Monday :wonder:

This week is supposed to be Architecture.
'The Old Naval College in Greenwich provides the backdrop for celebrated architecture photographer Hugh Gilbert to pass on some tips to three amateurs.'

I would give it a look, too, but - being cynical for a moment - has anybody ever seen a good TV programme about still photography? I mean, really good? Still photography translates well on the magazine page, but always looks crap on TV. Or is it me?

Tom Ang's recent efforts in 'Digital Britain' following David Dimbleby's evocative documentaries were a valiant attempt. But I've seen even Ansel Adams fall short on TV, and if you've ever stood* in front of an original big print from one of AA's original 10x8in negs, you'll know what I mean.

Richard.

oohh poo ... I've missed all of these and we haven't got sky+ :(

Don't have sky at school either and I doubt I'd be able to get 28 4 year olds to watch it!

If anyone does manage to record these I'd love a copy.

Watched this mornings and wasn't 100% impressed. It remnded me of a prog I have seen on BBC 2's learnign zone when 3 people are given 3 different types of camera and an assignment. The interesting with that 1, is 1 of them was always a pro and got given a camera phone, the ametuer got given an slr style and the rookie got given an SLR usually, or in 1 case the ameteur got to play with the new Mymiaya digital Medium format, lucky bugger.

Some of the results were stunning.

Saying that, some of the shots from this mornings programmes were fantastic.

I think todays is repeated again tonight at 6pm on Channel 553 Discovery Travel and Living

I didn't even know this channel existed until I searched for the programme on sky a-z!!

:)

They need a better presenter, its the 1 glaring thing that screams at me, she keeps switching descriptions of the cameras. Sometimes she describes the dslr as a 35mm digital, then 5 mins later its and advanced slr and teh fuji S5000 becomes the 35mm slr!!!

The programme on street photography imho is the best 1 yet, looking forward to the sport 1 now, just a pity I missed the landscape 1.

If anyone here is techie minded and can transfer video from VHS to DVD I'll continue to video them and send them the tape.
