Met him a couple of times. We talked about motorbikes. Nice guy.

One of the more approachable royals and blessed with bags of talent. Used to be I would have thought 66 was a good innings but having buried a cousin the day before yesterday (she was 55) and hearing that (Lord) Patrick Litchfield has died at 66, my 46 years (as of yesterday) are looking increasingly frail.

Here's to you Litchie - you gave us many, many memorable images. Rock'n'roll baby!
