The Michael 'Beef' Park Rally GB picture thread
Post your pictures up with your comments on Michael's last weekend in the WRC. No links at all to the accident pictures will be tolerated though.
I've seen quite a few nice photos posted on here and it'd be nice to have them in one place to remember the guy.
Who's first?

Excellent idea for a thread
Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of Beef this weekend, best I've got is a pic of Markko Martin at the service park on friday evening.

I do have a short video of them at Epynt though which I'll try to upload in a bit. As has been said on the WRGB forum we all know the risks involved in rallying and of course motorsport in general, Beef died doing what he loved and he is a great loss to the sport

Great pictures. At least those are from back in the days when the co-driver got more recognition and got their name in bold on the side of the car too. I couldn't understand the move to remove this.

I just posted that but you'd beaten me to it
As you say mate I really don't see the logic in why they removed the names in the first place!
I think some of the teams displayed the co-driver's name under the rear window in much smaller lettering, but even so its still being a bit disrespectful I think

The removal of the names must of been a PR excercise by manufacturers to promote just one name, sell merchantise, sell, sell, sell. Not in the true spirit of rallying.
The FIA apparantly felt that having two names on the car confused spectators. Surely if spectators are getting confused then you don't really want that kind of spectator?!
I was shocked on hearing of the accident at the weekend, it is such a shame that as rallying is enjoying more popularity that there is an accident so tragic. It is a dangerous sport, and, unfortunately people have died whilst competing. I cannot see why the FIA took the co-drivers names off the car's, despite their excuses. Perhaps now is the time to re-introduce them. They put their lives in just as much danger as the drivers and therefore should get the same respect.

I second that.
This week's Autosport magazine includes an in-depth analysis and tribute to Michael 'Beef' Park by Markko Martin and many other of the Briton's rally colleagues
..........its actually quite a good read.

The best way to remember 'Beef', doing what he loved. Great photos. Will always remember meeting you Michael. Top bloke, you will be missed.
A video file of Markko & Michael on the Cardiff superspecial stage on the saturday night:
