Is no-one interested in a country where theres probably more Subaru per square mile than anywhere else? mad555 19 September 2005, 21:03 Hard to know tarmac terror 20 September 2005, 20:26 I think everyone just pitches in to the main part of the forum. only things specific to NI seem to come in here I think. TT j joyce 20 September 2005, 22:51 Its a shame as to why very few owners from the republic don't get in touch here more often. The main forum is great and all but the horse**** does get a bit out of control sometimes with the "my car is faster than your car!" debate that often goes on between different scooby owners the length and breadth of the UK so this forum could be very handy for cutting out the above. It would be interesting to know where people enjoy driving and sorting out good reliable mechanics and garages that don't start giggling to themselves when they see a WRX roll up. So come on,anybody else got anything to start the ball rolling? tarmac terror 20 September 2005, 23:37 I have been told by a former colleague that a guy called Andy Mercer is due to open a top notch work shop in the Lisburn area. The guy has prepped a lot of cars including his own track cars. I have heard the same name mentioned in "straight line" circles, but am not certain if it is the same bloke. I hope to make enquiries in the next week or so. Apparently he hs kitted out a lockup with a good 4WD Dyno too. Watch this space.... TT John Curristan (sp) is opening the place, Mercer is only the manager. They will probably be  if they see the place called a lockup :D scubbay 21 September 2005, 14:23 I had autronics fitted a while back with these guys. Purpose built 1.5 million (lock up) trading as East Coast Customs. 02892 666555. 200+ 21 September 2005, 17:52 You must be one of the guys Mark Shead came over to map ? scubbay 21 September 2005, 18:24 You must be one of the guys Mark Shead came over to map ?Correct, done a good job too. Andrew told me Mark had mapped my car. Not really a secret as Mark is the autronics main man. Has also done a few Evo,s over here also. 200+ 21 September 2005, 18:43 Didn't suggest it was a secret otherwise I wouldn't have posted it  he did a few cars on the day. What power did you end up with ? Autronic is a good enough system for the money. scubbay 21 September 2005, 19:24 Didn't suggest it was a secret otherwise I wouldn't have posted it  he did a few cars on the day. Hoping for around 330-340 but really only setting the car up for 2.5 with gasflow heads and streetracer cams thats on the bench. A few snide remarks were made re the mapping of this car by folk that werent there (there were a few problems) hence the snappy reply to your original post. just a bit protective of my sub. 200+ 21 September 2005, 19:38 Last map was 305bhp/300lb torque although front mount fitted since then and APS sr55 turbo. Sounds good, hope you got the map checked after the turbo and FMIC. What spec are the streetracer cams ? never heard of them before. THE CLINT RETURNS 21 September 2005, 21:11 Is this the lawnmower mechanic mercer? The same one that was at cartoyz? Wont be working at any of my cars!!!! Forester Gump 22 September 2005, 11:21 A lot of people who used to post on here are posting on The Irish Subaru Drivers Club (www.555club.com) website. It can also be a bit of a ghost town sometimes but there does be some good group buys and meetings, track days, rolling road days etc.. We just had Andy Forrest over from Scotland to map a few members cars with fantastic results. He remapped my Forester and totally transformed it.If you are thinking of getting an Ecutek remap done I couldn't recommend him enough. He has just done a top speed run in his type R and acheived 199.4 mph! Originally from North (both me and the car), hence the PPP part. Oh, and also because I refuse on principle to pay VRT! Was lamenting the situation with you recently with regard to fuel down here now. Used to think it was bad enough that we could only get 97 RON over here compared to the 98.6 RON or whatever Optimax is, and now 99 RON Tesco stuff in UK. Now the best we can come up with in the South is 95 RON. Some joke. At least the lads up the North have still got the 97.
