It's a great camera; I bought one new about 4 years ago, then sold it to get my 1D two years later, then bought another one earlier this year to keep as a backup and for when I don't want to cart around the extra weight of the 1 series body.

I trust you've already seen my full-size example photos at http://www.cawte.nildram.co.uk/D30/ - they're the ones I use to prove a point to anyone who says they don't think 3MP is enough to capture an image in enough detail.

Here's a D30 shot from last weekend - just to prove there's plenty of life in the old dog yet :)

I really want a 1D (for the speed and autofocus) but I just can't afford 1k which is what they sell for 2nd hand.

The D30 will get me started and will be more than enough for a year or 2, then I'll buy the 1D when its being off loaded :D

Just paid for our vegas holiday so I should have some money soon.
