Try checking out http://www.competition-car-insurance.co.uk/ as I've used them before for a few track day insurance policies.

I'd second Egger Lawson (Competition Car Insurance).

I got £8000 of cover for £85.

Bear in mind that the cover is only for impact-related damage. In other words, if you over-rev & stick a rod through the block, you aren't covered. If you stuff it nose first into a wall & smash the cams etc. you are (read the small print!)

For a little bit more you can have full mechanical cover, IIRC it cost me about £145 last time for £18K + full engine, gear box and 4wd system with Edgar Lawson.
