View Full Version : Get Together In / Around Bradford
Alec 21 August 2000, 14:15 I'm seeing more and more Scoobs in Bradford and thought it would be nice to have a get together one evening.
Meet up at Baildon moor?
Anyone up for it?
Cheers
Alec
Peter L 21 August 2000, 18:39 Count me in.
Although based in London, I am regularly in the Bradford area - mainly to watch Bradford City and also to get the car serviced which I got from K.T.Green.
How about this Sunday - or any Sunday that is immediately after a Bradford home game http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Generally around Great Horton in Bradford or out towards Burley.
Cheers
Peter
Alec 21 August 2000, 20:04 Peter
Can't make it this sunday, i'm away for the weekend. When are city playing next then?
off topic a bit...
I used to live in Great Horton, Silver MY93 WRX. What is yours?
Peter L 21 August 2000, 20:12 No, mine is a UK silver MY99.
City play roughly every other week at home, although don't think I will be around on a Sunday until mid-September - but am still up for a meet.
Could do an early Saturday morning - anyone else interested?
Peter
Ian E 21 August 2000, 20:34 I'm interested in a get together at Baildon Moor but can only make weekends (not this one as going away)
Alec 21 August 2000, 21:15 How about 16 / 17 Sept?
Hands up who's not in IT...
Peter L 21 August 2000, 21:30 Would prefer Sunday 24th.
There have been threads in the past relating to the high number of IT professionals on Scoobynet - especially IT consultants!
Alec, what do you drive?
Peter
BarryK 21 August 2000, 22:49 I travel to the Bradford area most days.
Don't do a seperate meet on the 24th Septamber. Get along to Northern Meet 4 on that day. Starts at Birch services on M62 so it's easy to get to. A run over the tops someplace and finish up within half hour or less of Bradford. You'll be home for tea and scones!!!!
Any other date keep the suggestions coming, but don't waste the 24th.
Peter L 22 August 2000, 09:48 BarryK
Sorry - forgot about the Northern meet that day! See you there then.
Peter
Peter L 22 August 2000, 09:56 Any other suggestions for a Bradford meet date - maybe after the Northern meet?

Alec 22 August 2000, 10:01 10th September is good for me.
Peter I have a 93 WRX and a Diahatsu Cuore Advanzato TRXX R4 (pronounce that one down the pub!!).
STEVECHAPS 22 August 2000, 11:06 Count me in
Steve C
Count me in I only live in Leeds.
Bal.
Alec 22 August 2000, 13:46 Who can and will make it the Sunday 1 oct??
Peter L 23 August 2000, 00:21 I like the idea of the 22nd.
Peter L 23 August 2000, 11:42 Unfortunately, can't make the 1st October.
Alec, do you plan going to the Northern Meet 4?
BarryK 23 August 2000, 11:45 Alec.
I could probably do that as things stand today.
BUT It is only the Sunday after NM4. There might be one of two outcomes:-
a) We are all eager to meet up again
b) We want to give it a rest, so what about 8th, 15th or 22nd Oct?
Alec 23 August 2000, 13:25 Peter
I am going to northern meet 4.
Barry
22nd is good with me. Shall we sort it out?
Alec
Peter L 23 August 2000, 13:51 Well that's three of us for the 22nd.
Any ideas on what the plan will be?
Peter
Alec 23 August 2000, 13:58 How about we meet somwhere in Baildon??
Suggestions?
Bal, SteveChaps , IanE
You lads up for it?
22 October is now down in my diary.
Anywhere in Baildon is ok for me.
How about a pub with a secure carpark.
Bal
GaryC 23 August 2000, 17:45 Maybe at parents in Leeds that weekend, and able to come along, keep me informed!
Ian E 23 August 2000, 18:09 22nd October should be OK with me.
I'm also going to Northern Meet 4.
Ian.
Peter L 23 August 2000, 18:46 Only pub I can think of off the top of my head is Dick Hudsons - can't remember what parking is like though.
Are we going for an early morning start?
Alec 23 August 2000, 19:14 Dick Hudsons is good with me, does everyone know where it is?
I'm up for an early start say 5:30AM! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Seriously What sort of time?
GaryC
Keep an eye out here, the more the merrier.
Anyone got any friends who have nice exotic machinery who may want to come?
Alec
I need directions to Dick Hudsons.
Ta
Peter L 24 August 2000, 00:45 Some good advice from GaryC there.
Maybe a "relatively" early meet -10am?, a blast and back in time for some lunch at Dick Hudsons?
Alec - what's more exotic than a Scooby http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/wink.gif
Peter
GaryC 24 August 2000, 08:29 Without being a killjoy, the best meets are the smallest. I have organised two, one had 51 the other had 73 cars. The last one especially was spoiled by having too many cars. Nice to see so many cars, but no chance of speaking to any more than 20% of the people, the drive was ruined by too many cars, even though they were set off in 10 car 'lots', police became aware and positioned themselves between the cars etc etc.
The most enjoyable 'meets' are when half a dozen of subarus meet up for a hours 'blast' and then finish at a pub for a 'bite'.
If you want big numbers and exotic cars, just meet up one evening for drink, too much atention is not a good thing.
Alec 24 August 2000, 13:58 GaryC
Fair enough, i can see that.
10 AM sounds good to me.
Bal, where do you know in Bradford? I could meet you somewhere and show you the way.
Alec....
I know Bradford quite well but...
how about we meet in the car park at Harry Ramsdens in Guesiley
