Well, it looked like it was going to be a two horse (or should that be cow?) race from the start... close at times, but a clear winner developed.
So - another big well done to Daryl for an excellent entry with "Trees". I'm still wondering where you found it... grid ref please!
A big thank-you and well done to all others that entered, especially to Paul G. with "Nosey" - which was a great image, and I think we can all picture you getting this shot! Just pipped in to 2nd place there Paul...
If you're wondering, it was basically:
Daryl - Trees - 61 points
Paul G. - Nosey - 47 points
and then the 'also rans'...
Over to you Daryl for round 18.

A very worthy winner :thumb:
Now what's he gonna set for us this time?http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/images/smilies/ponder2.gif
Thanks for all the kind words :)
I took the pic in France about two weeks ago. I had the thought of three in the back of my mind when we were driving through the countryside near Epernay. I saw the trees sitting on the ridge, did a quick u-turn and then noticed the stripey field.
Unfortunately, it was a hazy day and the trees were quite a long way away, hence the washed out sky and muted colours. So, not a great shot technically, but I was pleased with the composition and representaion of '3'.
Will now put on my thinking cap for the next round :)

Congrats to the winners of 1st and 2nd, and well done to everyone else who posted up photos.
It's great to have a theme set to really think about a shot.
[Thinks] Must join in the discussion thread as well next round, tho!

I think your shot demonstrates with absolute clarity that a good picture need not be very great technically.
Its all to easy to get into the frame of mind (sorry, pun intended :p) that blown highlghts/washed out areas/muted colours/lack of sharpness, etc, become more important than the overall result.
In getting so hung up on those issues, its all to easy to forget the bigger picture (no pun intended this time :) )
Congrats mate, it was a worthy winner :)

I am having to resort to taking meaningless photos in the mean time while waiting for a subject...
