Evening all...
Took my Scoob down to have the Prodrive settings dialed in today to discover that it had probably been done before (e.g. rear camber equal at -1 deg 10 mins) Rear toe needed tweaking slighty.
Now the disappointing bit - front camber was -0 deg. 32 mins both sides, asked them to see if it could go some more (wanted -1 ideally). N/S would go past this but o/s wouldn't go anymore than the 0.5 deg or so it was to start with.
So I guess I need some camber bolts - question is what size and where from - seen Demon Tweaks mentioned in a thread here but can't see anything on their site...
Car is an MY97 UK spec (Catalunya)
Front has camber bolts as standard.
Don't go putting extra camber bolts in the bottom bracket (top bracket hole has standard camber bolt in) as it's not the way to be doing it safely.
The 05 cars seem to suffer with this problem for some reason....
(assume it is an 05 ??)
Your best bet would be some top mounts if you want to run more camber.
EDIT: Ahh I see the edit now and you probably have something bent then, I can usually get 1 degree 30 mins on a classic car without too much bother.
What could you get the the other side to read (maximum)
is there a printout with a setback measurement on it...
Andy
Hi Andy,
I'll have a look at the printout when I get home. N/S went to at least 1 deg 12 mins - but I stopped them at that point as I wanted 1 deg. Then when they tried the O/S it was already as far as it would go at just 32 mins neg. In fact once slackened off they had to really tug the wheel to get it back to 32.
So from your post - new age cars have camber bolts, but do classics or are they (as I assumed) just slotted?

All impreza's have camber bolts in the top hole on the front suspension struts.
Classic and new age.
It's possible that you have a bent strut or lower wishbone, they are the usual suspects.
Probably best to try second hand components until you find the cause otherwise it gets expensive....
Andy
Andy,
Hope there's nothing bent... tyre wear is fine (not that new tyres) and car drives and pulls up straight.
Settings from the print out (in degs and mins, left then right and excluding what I've already given)...
Caster: 2 39' & 2 59'
SAI: 15 00' & 14 52'
Included angle: 14 34' & 14 20'
Any help?
Like to get it re-checked elsewhere (Powerstation would be good but I'm in south Hampshire - though am passing on Friday) but seems little point in the extra cost if I can't get the camber I wanted out of it. Bit of a bummer as I wanted the extra to give me heavier steering and improve front end grip (RWD background - don't like understeer ;)) a tad.
Techy where I had the car setup suggested using an undersize camber bolt to give more adjustment - is that an option in your opinon?
