I am holidaying in Scotland in a few weeks time and would like to take my imported Sti V3 with me but the shell website isn't being very helpful and I need to know if there are any Optimax garages near where I am staying. I will be in Tarbert on Kintyre. I think there may be one near Oban/ Connel but I can't remember. I think there is one in Dumbarton as well but I would like to know if there are any nearer. Also what do people think of using BP ultima instead?

Buy lots of octane booster before you go and use Super as a last resort

u got an Ipaq with TomTOm navigator at all?? If so you can put in all the Shell garages as a POI :)

If not - I'm surprised Shell don't have the info you need...

Yep. Like Grant says there is no Optimax from somewhere between Loch Lomond and Glasgow all the way North and back down again to Inverness.

Recently we drove right aroung scotlands coastline, from berwick to john o` groats then west to cape wrath, to ullapool, to oban, to stranrar then back home to glasgow area. Managed not to use octane booster! Fuel all the way up east coast. Last fuel inverness, this will get u too thurso! Which incidently is sooby world for a population of about 300. Everyone seems to have a soob.
Fuel from thurso will then get u too ullapool, where ultimate is. Fuel up again till, fortwilliam, then between ft will and oban there is a Q8 with 98 ron. Then dont nail it and fuel will get you to dumbarton.

Ps Phone shell they are helpfull. I fell ulimate is ok but you dont get as many liles out it. Ps Thurso area is out of this world. Go north instead of oban.
