I'll be there on Wednesday as a regular spectator and a VIP guest on Thursday, should get a great view of the complex from the Brooklands suite

I was a guest with Renault in 2002 and it was great being able to get in to the garages and up close to the cars and drivers. Got some great pictures (some of which are on my website). Looking forward to the same thing this year.

Testing days are free although you don't get full unrestricted access to the circuit, only the top straight usually.

You get to sit in the grandstands oposite the pits for free though.

Take ear plugs!!! When the grandstands are empty the noise reverberates through them and it is so loud it makes your fillings hurt!

I will be going on Thursday, it is fairly close to me, but this is the first time I have actually remembered to book time off work to go.

I will look out for other scoobs in the car park.
I expect there will be a nice selection of cars in the car park anyway.

Does anyone know the rough times for the testing. Might pop down on Thursday as I'm off work. Sound like a good opportunity for a few pic's.

Aiming for Thursday. I went to the British Supebike test day earlier this year. And that was pretty good.

I have also heard that testing sometimes starts at 9am.

I hope most teams will be there (as expected).

And I support the current underdogs Ferrari.

My mate is there today and keeps calling me at work. I keep putting it on speaker phone which everyone is really appreciating ;) Well, most do anyway :D My mate got tickets via Autosport and has a pit pass for the whole day. He's standing by the pit exit so the noise over the phone is awesome. Wish I was there :(

Went today. Was AWESOME! You know from the TV what they sound like. But what it doesnt convey is the absolute descruction of the air around the car as it hurtles along. The overrun is fabulous, and you can hear the traction control buzzing away as they exit the complex. Kimi, Alonso and Jenson are VISABLLY quicker than their team mates. Though stranely teh timesheets dont back Alonso up :confused: Also managed to blag my way into the pits at lunchtime. ;) I'll post up a few of the better pics later.

P.S Who crashed/went off in the afternoon, could see the rescue trucks maybe a Williams from what I could see - what happened?

I got close to the guys as I had paddock access, thanks to a mate. It was only as I was walking past that I spotted them and got the camera out.

I also saw the other red bull driver, but he looked rough, so I decided not to take a pic. I also have a photo of Kimi, but mostly his back. I also spotted Mark Webber, but through glass.

B/f did not want to hang around with 'groupies' so we wandered away again, otherwise I would have looked for Jenson (to see if he is as cute in real life) and Rubens.

Sounds like you all had a great time. Who says F1 is boring? The mere fact that the cars go SOOO fast around corners just makes me dribble every time I see them.

I was at Imola watching Schumi catch Alonso and that was amazing.

If your quick, and look like you've got a pass you can get through. I managed to get into the central area and into the pit lane without a pass quite easily. Got some good pic's standing on a flagman's stand at the end of Copse.

Thats virtually the same as what I did. Basically tagged along behind 2 unknowns who flashed their passes to the security at the tunnel under Turn 1. I just smiled to the security and he smiled back.

I wondered if I should try and blag it into McLarens hospitality area with my old "Team McLaren" membership card. Decided against it in the end. :D

As for the Pits again just wandered through with a family who had the passes round their necks.

I was only challenged after I went out to the car at lunchtime and tried to get back in. I think if Id been with some mates* we wouldnt have made it, but because I was on my own it was less difficult
