Another fencing question.
What is the train of thought when it comes to puting the posts in ?
Cement them in or good size hole whacked hard when refilling ?
I have the posts treated and have the DBC and am just about to get digging.
You can place them in without using concrete but the hole must be deep enough and you'd really have to use a petrol hole digger to make a neat hole so it's firm enough to support. If you're replacing an existing fence this is never easy because all sorts of old bricks and mortar will hinder you.
I always concrete them in and use those fast set mortar bags from Wickes. They set really fast and save you a lot of hassle.
how many bags per 2 ft hole ?

When i did the panel fence at my old house i used about 1 1/2 a hole they set quite quick aswell..
One bag per post should do it. I chuck in some mashed up bricks/stones around the base of the post and whack 'em down just before adding the concrete as well.
