Default Imprecise Steering on 03 WRX

My 03 WRX has recently started to feel "loose" and imprecise on the steering. It tramlines too - not as if the tracking is out (which gives a consistent pull in one direction) but it wobbles from side to side - especially over bumps!

Any ideas? Steering rack / trackrod ends / top mounts / wishbone bushes?

Had a similar problem on my MY04 WRX (although I didn't get the side to side wobble). Tried changing the tyre pressures changing them up and down like a yoyo and it helped a fair bit but only with them a fair bit off recomended pressure. Finally rotated wheels front to back and it has made quite a difference feeling OK with pressures back to normal. Hope this helps

Well its worth checking the rack mounting bolts - they've been found to be loose (1 missing) on another Impreza recently Obvoiusly it goes without saying you should check everything else related to the steering for looseness.

Certainly check the tracking. It sounds like its maybe toed-out. I don't agree that incorrect tracking will make it pull consistently to one side. You want a very small amout of toe-in.
