Haven't got one. But when you are looking to buy a camera the most important thing to consider is what you want to do with it...

If you want A3 prints and a lot of control then get a D SLR with replaceable lenses, 6MP+ and the option of saving to RAW.

If you want pictures for web sites, computer use or up to 6x4 prints then the powershot might be a good option if you are going to use the zoom range or the video features.

If you just want something that is easy to carry around and that can take web pictures and snaps but without the video or large zoom range then there are other options such as the IXUS or powershot A ranges which will fit in a pocket.

In between their are high MP compacts such as the S60 or S70 that include RAW but no video - these are for people who have the D-SLR already, but cannot be bothered with lugging the 5KG+ bag around all the time.

So what are you realistically going to use it for?

You can also look at reviews by people that have see one, such as: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canons1is/ or http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/s1is.html, both of which are considered to be pretty good for camera reviews.

Or you can try http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B0001G6U52/002-8305018-2429613?v=glance which has loads of details and lots of consumer reviews, but I always tend to look for the bad reviews as many people having bought a lemon will still pretend that it is good so that they don't look stupid.

Thanks rewolf I appreciate it, I primarily wanted it for pics for posting on the interenet so it seems as though it will suit the job :D

I will read the reviews.

Cheers for your help.

I think there's an S2 IS on the way so you may well pick up a bargain.
