i've got a kenwood z838w headunit and 2 of the outputs are non fading left and right question is can these be used as dedicated subwoofer outputs? i've looked on the net but can't seem to find an answer:(

I would've thought you had 3 RCA preouts (F+R+S/W or Non Fad). The answer to your question is, yes, you can use the Non Fad for the subs.

I'm using the front and rear fading outputs. 2 fronts to run the front speakers and the 2 rear to run the sub bridged. Not using the non-fading. You have more control over the sub if its on a fading output.

cool many thanks for the replys will give it a go using the rear outputs as they are already plugged in and it saves having the headunit out to swap them over.

Does it not have a sub/non-fading level control on the head unit in the audio menu?? That would give you more control as you can adjust the level and cross over point without effecting the other speakers.

yes it does i have found out there is a volume control for the n/f preouts so in the end used them instead.

I have no rears, so it doesn't matter if you use the non-fading or the rear channels.

If you have rears, then use the non-fading.
