Hi
Well its been some time since I have ridden a bike. My last bike was a Kawasaki GPz 750, 17 years ago there abouts. I spotted recently the new Yamaha MT01 and really took to its styling, big twin engine and all that low down torque.
I have phoned quite a few insurance companies and most just say that they are unable to quote. So i thought i would try yamaha's own insurance quotation website. It came back with two quotes one for £1800 and the other, are you ready £10800. The bike is supposed to retail at £9500 with group 14 insurance.
I am 40yrs( midlife crisis creeping in, born again biker) old with no convictions and donkeys years of no claims bonus with cars.
Am I that big a risk, to not get a decent quote?
Will I have to start with a small bike and build a fews years of bonus before going back to a big bike?
Has anybody else had a similar experience?
Andy
