Prodrive Suspension Setup and cost
Had a cost for Prodrive suspension today, £371.00 inc VAT fitted (WRX MY05).
I asked if this included Prodrive Geometry settings and wether this would be done on a laser alignment system. They said that they did set it up with Prodrive settings, but not with a laser system, and they did it themselves.
Is this normal??? and is this a good price

Hi Mate,
I had mine done last year and cost me £450 including fitting and VAT, that was for an STi but still
Is makes a hell of a differance though. ENJOY

I tell you what - this just really ticks me off, it seems to be complete luck of the draw on what these dealers will quote you. Surely it should be a fixed price for everyone and if you can negotiate something off the all the good.
Here's what I was quoted and posted in the suspension forum a few days back..

I've just been quoted £510 inc VAT to supply and fit the Prodrive Springs Kit to a MY05 WRX. Apparantly this price includes the kit (springs and bumpstops) and 4 hours labour.
On top of this they are quoting anything between £50 - £150 for four wheel alignement depending on what needs doing...
It might be me but this seems an awful lot of money ?
Also is it possible for somewhere like Power Engineering to get the kit and fit it without affecting the warranty ?
Thanks guys..

Just paid £411 inc VAT for springs, fitting and full Geometry/4 Wheel alignment but I was having the rear shocks replaced under warranty so effectively the rears were done free (this is on a MY02STi though I'm guessing similar labour times)

I've asked Stan Palmers of Carlisle, Ridings of Preston and Gibsons of Brock all within the last 3 weeks if the Prodrive springs are available yet for my 2005 Sti ppp, they all said NO. I take it from this thread they they are now available or am I missing something?!

,so yes they are now availableJon
Hmmm - Power Engineering are quoting £262 + vat (40.61) to fit them. Plus alignment at worse case £100 if there is a lot of adjustments to be made.
If the springs are £200 as above then this is almost the same as I was quoted by Subaru.
Would rather get Power Engineering to do them tbh but it's working out pretty costly..anyone any other bright ideas ?
btw the guy at PE thought there shouldn't be any warranty issue as you are fitting approved parts but suggested double checking with the dealership..

i am sure mike wood from prodrive posted re warranty being invalid if fitted by non subaru mechanics! but if powerstation etc do it there should be no problems but on 03 cars several people have had parts replaced under warranty due to rear rattling requiring new tops

Bartop,
I think you'll find that there is an offical price, but most dealers will negotiate. Demanding a fixed price from every dealer would almost certainly increase the price for most people.
What you could try though is to find the best price for the springs and the best price for fitting/setup. When I had it done on my '03 STi I got the springs supplied and fitted for £235 and got the setup done elsewhere for errrrrrrrr very little.
It all depends on how well you get on with your dealer I suppose, but a few will do demon deals for friendly regulars.

Josh - I guess what I'm pissed about is the ridiculously wide variation on quotes -
Can I ask where you got your springs supplied and fitted from for £235 ? , as thats less than half the price I've been given elsewhere so far..pm if you prefer
Powerstation are quoting £160 plus vat (£28) for fitting and alignment, which is the best I've got so far - stick the £200 for the kit on and it's £390'ish total.
