I have a house with 2 front doors, both wired to a single bell unit in the hall, and run off a transformer.

I cannot hear the hall bell when in the kitchen, can I simply wire a 2nd bell unit in nearer the kitchen?

Yes, Simply.. No.. you need to run a pair of wires of the bell in the hall to the kitchen.. get a bell and a short length of wire first and try it (wire across the existing bell in parallel.. transformer should run both..only thing is you wont be able to determine which door is which any more iirc.

arse, was hoping to just wire it into the existing wire that runs from back door bell to other sounder :(
