hello
have a problem which seems to keep on coming back. I have a my93 wrx. recently i have been having a lot of missfire and idle problems.
The plugs have been changed and everything else checked and changed that wasnt right.

basically there is a lot of problems on idle as it never seems to idle steady. the revs drop right down and it seems lumpy.
when driving there seems to be flat spots and missfires.

also on idle the volt meter is twitching up and down even with nothing else on such as fan, stereo etc.

is it possible to be an earthing/battery problem as this is really hacking me off.
any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Lumpy idle is often associated with a MAF sensor problem. It'd be worth checking that out by seeing if you can have a quick loan of one off another car to see if that helps the problem.

MAF problems can lead to pretty bad damage if not dealt with. Don't wish to sound alarmist but I'd get it looked at ASAP.

If you do a search on MAF failure you'll probably pick up a full description of the symptoms.
