The theme for round 14 of the photo competition is 'Weather'.

The weather has been making the headlines lately and this time of year we all seem to get lots of it. So see how you can catch Mother Nature in action.

To keep things tidy, entries only in this thread please - all comments should go here (http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=394867)

Good luck everyone, waterproofs at the ready.......:) or shorts depending on which part of the world your in.

Rules:

1. No image will be greater than 800 pixels along its longest side.
2. Image overall will not exceed 120kb.
3. Image must have been taken within the competition period, which is from 15th January to 15th Feburary.
4. Each submitter can change their posted image at any time (using edit function).
5. Maximum of three (3) images per submitter, per competition.
6. Digital manipulation is permitted in order to correct technical issues such as dust or noise on the image. Subtle sharpening, levels and contrast adjustment are allowed, provided that the end result faithfully resembles the image that was in front of the camera during the exposure. It is not permitted to add or remove elements of the image or to apply digital 'effects'.
7. Image must be hosted so that it appears correctly in the competition thread and must remain so for the period of the competition including voting. Any images that do not appear correctly won't poll may votes, obviously.
8. Image must be titled but not on the image itself. I.e. some bold text naming the image should be posted at the same time as the image itself. In addition, any details of the image itself should also be posted (this is a learning exercise after all). E.g. EXIF data or maybe just aperture, shutter speed, equipment used.
9. There will be no posts in the competition thread other than those for the posting of competition images. All discussion should be held in other threads.
10. There are no judges, only votes from Scoobynet members, and it's their collective decision which is final. The '10 points' voting scheme will be used.
11. Images will meet the requirements of the ScoobyNet T&Cs
12. Winner gets to choose the theme for the next round.

Fuji Finepix4800 (I really should learn to take the 300D out on these drives!)
ISO-125, F7, 1/137s, 9mm, pattern metering.
Boosted the contrast in Paintshop and tweaked the saturation to bring out the detail in the clouds.

A couple more playing with my new 10-22mm EF-S Lens :D

Maybe completely off-topic, but I had to share this one - taken using an identical setup to the shot above, but turning the camera through a few degrees to catch a street lamp in the frame:

Sorry, didn;'t notice that, it was taken just days before I moved house and I haven't had the opportunity to shoot since, In fact I haven't really been anywhere for 2 months now 'cos of a really inflamed disc in me back. You'd better disqualify me then .
Just thought it was a nice pic and that others might like to share. No one need vote for it. Never entered anything like this before.

Tiz a nice pic, I made this mistake first time I entered a photo. See if you can get some more good ones. The low light and misty conditions which are common this time of year make for great snaps.
