Default Fog light or spot light?

Have recently bought some 2nd hand Subaru lights for my MY97 Type R.
Have plugged them in and bolted them but can't get them to work.
I thought they would come on with the main beam but no.
Could they be Fog lights and not spots as I thought?
The bulbs they take are H3 size if that helps.
If they are fogs I guess I'll have to get a switch fitted.
Any ideas?

Question

Do the lenses say "Subaru" anywhere on them? If so, they are fogs.

All driving lights for Scoobs are aftermarket (except those on the P1), and are branded, PIAA, Cibie, Hella etc.

You might get a switch from GradeA, assuming the connector is in place?

Wink

The one behind where the switch would be if it was a "proper" car

Seriously: I assume you've found a connector behind where the lights fit, and plugged 'em in? I'm not sure if there's a relay, but I reckon alls else you'll have to do is find the connector for a foglight switch, behind a blanking plate: on mine it's the LH one on the panel to the RHS of the steering wheel. There are 2 switches there on a UK car: front and rear fogs. Then you'll need a foglight switch from GradeA or a dealer.

That's all ASSUMING the wiring is in place?
