Hi guys,

After the stunning successful sale of the last batch, I am comtemplating producing another 10 of these parts.

They replace the "flawed" subaru item in the oil pump. They are CNC machined, hardened, cylindrically ground, etc.

They are shimmed (built in), which slightly increases the oil pressure.

I know there were one or two people who didnt manage to get these before (sold out). So I am gauging interest.

If I can get 10 people interested I will produce them. Takes about 3 weeks to get them.

They are 50 pounds plus VAT.

J.

ps - Guys, it would be nice to be paid for the ones you had before *hint* Adam, Moray, Tim

I'm assuming no VAT outside of EU? And how easy is it to change?

Interested

Its part of the oil pressure valve.

The valve maintains the oil pressure limit within you engine.

The actual valve consists of two parts, the plunger and the spring.

The stock plunger has one or two design flaws (wake up subaru). Due to subaru's design they have been known to jam open (and closed) either dropping your pressure down to zero, or blowing out your seals.

This plunger, eliminates the design issues with the stock item, and also increases the pressure slightly.

Prodrive utilise a similar design in the uprated pumps they sell, but wont just sell the plunger, but only the pump as a whole unit (expensive).

Hi again..

No oil cooler will be required.

This mod simply improves on the oil pressure relief valve design, and also increases oil pressure slightly.

I have 4 takers upto now, anyone else.... ?

Question

Firefox,

Pardon my ignorant question, but I've not worked on the oily bits of my Scooby yet (still got warranty on it, so a bit wary to prod too hard too soon! )

How much effort is involved in fitting this? I mean, is it a partial strip-down job to remove the pump etc., or is it really accessible like on a Mini (yup, I'm that old!).

Must get my head under the bonnet soon!

Cheers,
Steve

I wish it was like a mini... oh the good ol' days

Its quite a big job to fit it. The pump stays in place, but unfortunately the valve is blocked by the timing belt.

So I only suggest this mod to people who will be changing the timing belt or building an engine.

If the belt is already off, then its a 5 minute job.
