Damn... I thought the 'phone approach would work. If you persist with some insurers you can get the call centre staff to refer unlisted vehicles to an underwriter - especially if you are able to give them a comparable model that they do insure, and explain the main differences. Whether or not it will work with Privilege I don't know. But might be worth a quick call?

Otherwise, try Keith Michaels [0870 845 3333], Osbourne & Sons 020 8388 6000, Schofield Insurance 0113 250 0377 - they're all brokers that seem to know their Scoobs.

Final idea - ring someone like Litchfield Imports and see if they can suggest anyone.

Thinking of a Spec C Ltd, so I put my details into Priviledge. Of course it wasn't there, so having put the effort in I got it to quote for a WR1 instead.

£402.15! :D

Age has its compensations!

Now heard from my current insurers about the Spec C Ltd - an extra £146 to take me to November 2005.

Result!

Endsleigh by the way. Do I look like a student? ;)

I'm with A-plan under their grey import scheme: www.greyimportinsurance.co.uk

They should definitely know about the Spec C - failing that, Iain Litchfield definitely does have a list, but he responds much better to phone calls than emails in my experience.

They are on 01273 622422, but when I have referred people to them before they haven't been able to do anything for them.

Good luck!

They wont touch anything thats not UK (subaru assured that is, which i find is a bit pathetic as they use to without problems) plus you will need added security if you dont have a garage  which is also a bit pathetic, especially if you live in the middle of nowhere.....
