This is my m8s car and I can vouche for it`s speed. He even managed a 5.5 0-60 time at York dragway with no fancy lsd! The exhaust isn`t even a large one but is v loud. Worth every penny!

Insurance is usually no problem.

My 205 has a 1.9 16v Mi16 engine in it, along with exhaust/filter/brake mods etc - currently 166bhp. Insurance was £350 tpft last year through Adrian Flux.

Just rebuilding it at the moment with programmable ECU and throttle bodies which should take it to 185-190bhp, though I will need to go agreed value next year as its costing me £2k to rebuild. New Emerald ECU was £700 alone.

Sorry guys, been in Paris since I posted here last.

Rick, hence missed the Bay Horse - congrats mate

Mark - bought some bike TB's in the end - Suzuki GSXR 750, 40mm inlet (same as std port near enough), and enough for 200bhp. Got them as new from Ebay for £63 - just need to have a linkage and manifold sorted now.

Yeah, its your fault its cost me £1k for the setup, rather than £400 for Webers

Should be worth it in the end though

There is a full project thread for my car on 205gtidrivers.com, but I will transport the thread here when its done as you have to be reg to view it. It shows the whole project from parking the car up, removing the engine, stripping the engine, creating the new wiring loom (current position of project), and will then go on to new engine going in, TB's, ECu etc.

I'm bloody enjoying it

<sorry for thread hijack>

Is this the thing that races at York Dragstrip all the time ? - the guy lives in preston i think ? I raced him in august in my new STi and i got thrashed. From the start line i pulled away from him no messin but about half way up the track he came passed me and pulled about 5-6 car lengths on me. I couldnt believe it ( got some stick off the missus ). I spoke to him after the race and found out he had NITROUS installed on the engine and was running about 250bhp in a car that weighed about 750 kg..... say no more. The car is sold i think thats why its been taken off.

Cool, another East Lancs lad joins Scoobynet, I'm in Barrowford

I'll look out for you, what Scoob you driving?

I'm usually in a Black Focus or white 405 Mi16 with silly loud exhaust (not my choice, was on when I bought it )

Also have a Miami blue 205 Mi16 but its being rebuilt.

We have a small East Lancs Scooby club over at www.ladsoc.co.uk - join up, we're a good bunch with a monthly meet over at Helmshore

Hey, don't blame it on me As I recall I wasn't the only one telling you to see sense

You'll have to let me know what you think of the emerald kit too, as regards user friendliness, reliability & performance

PS, pity about the extra £600 though, you could have used it to buy some graphite paint
