I have got the mesh - goes between the rad and front bumper in large lower aperture (number plate area). Top piece of kit - easy to install and no more stones in my rad or a/c condenser!

Adge,

I am sure this has been asked before, but, is there any way this can be fitted to/adapted for pre-99 cars?

Can you post a photo in this thread?

Andrew...

Maxy,
Takes about 15 mins to fit and is held in place by cable ties so no drilling is required. Its very easy when you know how.
See silver surfer's comments.

Pete,
Thanks for the order.

Thumbs up

I have got one of Adge's radiator meshes fitted and can vouch for the quality. It's pretty easy to fit (apart from some grazed knuckles) and should be more than up to the job. I was surprised at the number of dents on my unprotected rad after only 7000 miles.

Thumbs up

I had one of the inter-cooler meshes from Adge and for the cost and ease of fitting worth every penny, beats spending nearly £100 for the same sort of thing and it does look good through the scoop.

You could also make one yourself for under a tenner!

I've made a template so just get some mesh and away you go!

I'll be at Oulton if you're interested.

PS I've done the top grill as well and I'm also cheapskate!

Floyd are yours edged off so that they don't scratch the car ??? That's were the cost comes from Adge is not trying to make a load of money here he is just covering his costs.

I suppose that as you've hijacked my thread, you've also nicked my designs, if you can make me some to the standard of mine for under a tenner ie quality stainless steel mesh, and properly edged to stop the paint work being damaged then I'll buy some off you.
Perhaps you should try the muppet thread or max power boys as I believe there are a few Nova lads around with Subaru scoops who might be interested in yours, seeing as they probably didn't pay for them.

Oh dear, it had to happen some day, I didn't mean to upset you or anyone else.

I haven't stolen your design but made my own and I put a lot of thought into it as well. Mine is not stainless steel mesh but aluminium (lighter you see)and it is edged in rubber trim so as not to damage the bumper.

I am not selling my design but mearly stating an option. If I had seen your product first then I may not have bothered to build my own and bought yours, but if anyone would like to do thier own just for the 'pleasure' then I can help them.

I do however take offence to being associated with the max power boys and that was uncalled for. I agree though that the muppet thread is where I usually reside.

One point about your intercooler mesh design - where does the rubber seal go which is attached to the bonnet? I thought it usually slots/locates inside the intercooler making a nice seal so that all the air is directed into it?

Floyd,
Having said that if a Nova boy wants to buy one I'd sell him one.
I'm not in this to make money or as a business, I only did it when I saw how much other people were charging for them and I wanted one for myself, but when other people saw it and there seemed to be an interest from them wanting them, I thought having gone to all the trouble to design and get them made, why not get some more made, but then I wasn't going to do it for nothing expenses etc.
With regards to using Aluminium the problems I can see are 1) corrosion(oxidation) 2) If its Aluminium wire then thats not so bad but if its streched Aluminium to give a mesh effect then the edges could be sharp which could damage the rubber sealing strip if used for the intercooler.
With my intercooler design the rubber strip sits on the mesh around the sealed edge of the guard making the seal. Normally with no guard there is no seal to the intercooler.
If you're going to Oulton then I'll show you mine if you show me yours and let the people decide.
Cheers Adge

I will be at Oulton so we can examine each others! You will have to consider overall cost to make the comparison even.

I take your point about oxidation but only time will tell, but then again I have seen Stainless Steel stain!

Please remember the hierachy on this BBS, I have considerably more posts than you and as such I am you senior!!!!

Been reading this thread and have shown interest before in your mesh. Will you have any to sell at Oulton? Also, how will I find you to look at your design?

Cheers

Floyd,
Yes you may have more posts than me but I've been a scooby regular much longer so I'm afraid that takes me the senior . The reason I haven't posted as much is I only post when I have something constructive to say, like B*ll**ks. After all, you said you reside in the muppet forum most of the time.
see you Sat

Tim, yes I'll be at Oulton Park and will bring some with me. I'll be in a Sonic Blue MY00 with Gold multispoke Alloys and Prodrive rear spoiler.
See you there
