I'm insured with Elephant.co.uk and just informed them of my 28 day ban.

They told me that if the ban was for 30 days they would have canceled the policy, apparently its a new directive from their underwriters. This came into affect in the last 2 weeks.

Don't think i'll be using them next year. Not reinsuring me next year i'm fine with I just cant beleive they would have cancelled my policy with 6 months to run.

They would have had to have given you a pro rata refund.

If they changed their criteria, that should only affect people who incept a policy after the change. Your policy and contract was based on their previous criteria.
