View Full Version : FAO those of you attending this year's Rally GB... cefski 15 September 2004, 09:19 Be warned - CLICKY (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/wales/mid/3654648.stm) Kev speedking 15 September 2004, 10:03 Surely having your headlamp covered like that must be illegal LOL. Bikes can reach, and park, in the places other speed cameras can't :( tucker101uk 15 September 2004, 10:06 This PI55ES ME OFF!! The rally bringsw 15 million into the welsh economy, and yet they are still getting arsey about speeding competitors? and fining and banning the drivers? come on you muppets! learn something in the university of life! IMHO if the local police are gonna have this attitude to world class drivers who were prob only doing 35 in a 30 zone or something, then the WRC should pull out of wales. fcuk em. move it to somewhere in the UK where people are gonna show some respect for the people who travel miles to give their money to the local economy! GRRRR cefski 15 September 2004, 10:07 "Ideally, I'd like to see no-one caught during the event" John Rowling, manager of the Safety Camera Partnership Yeah, right :Whatever_ Kev Colin_McRazy 15 September 2004, 11:00 bring it to BRISTOL! Senior Marshal 15 September 2004, 11:23 These bikes still have to be listed on the mobile camera list, the only advantage of them is their size, as a speed enforcement van is a big thing to park on a narrow country lane. I work in an office next to a garage full of those!!!!!!! DanCov 15 September 2004, 11:28 I cant understand why people complain so much about speed camera's and speeding, at the end of the day the rules apply to everyone. And if your caught speeding you should face up to the consequences frankly. tucker101uk 15 September 2004, 11:44 Rules are rules. I agree. But if you aren't in it to make money, why the necesity (spelling :S) for the extra cameras for one weekend a year. If they have all the 'accident blackspots' covered, surely they dont need anymore!? DanCov 15 September 2004, 12:07 just plan your journeys properley and enjoy the rally :) groundhog 15 September 2004, 12:47 I cant understand why people complain so much about speed camera's and speeding, at the end of the day the rules apply to everyone. And if your caught speeding you should face up to the consequences frankly. I agree. In fact I think anyone found to be at fault in an accident should have points put on their licence and anyone being banned from driving, for point accumulation or otherwise, should be required to pass their test again - including theory/HPT. Mind you I wasn't best pleased when I was caught by a camera recently whilst enjoying a leisurely drive on a quiet rural stretch of the A40 with no other road uses in sight. groundhog 15 September 2004, 12:52 I agree. GRRRR im with you on this all cameras are ment to be placed in accident black spots. rac comes to town for 4 days, low and behold all south f***ing wales is a black spot. dont get me wrong i agree some t**t doing warp 9 through towns etc should be banned for 6yrs+ but my mate got done on the m4 last year for doing 78mph it seems to me after giving south wales £15.000000 there putting 18 extra mobile cameras on just to round the zero`s of on the bank balance :hjtwofing West Glam Racer 15 September 2004, 16:22 Just stick to the speed limit and you won't get caught! Simple as that! :) West Glam Racer 15 September 2004, 16:25 im with you on this all cameras are ment to be placed in accident black spots. rac comes to town for 4 days, low and behold all south f***ing wales is a black spot. dont get me wrong i agree some t**t doing warp 9 through towns etc should be banned for 6yrs+ but my mate got done on the m4 last year for doing 78mph it seems to me after giving south wales £15.000000 there putting 18 extra mobile cameras on just to round the zero`s of on the bank balance :hjtwofing What you must remember is that there are a lot of people from all over the country who are in South Wales during the Rally! People who are not farmiliar to the area except locals don't know the roads well enough around here and end up speeding!! Stcik to the limits and you will be okay!! WGR groundhog 15 September 2004, 16:25 Just stick to the speed limit and you won't get caught! Simple as that! :)Aye! speedking 15 September 2004, 16:35 That would be fine if all speed limits were clearly marked. However, I have travelled down the M5 to Bristol and there are some 40mph roadworks, and when you get to the end there is no NSL sign. Technically you should proceed at 40mph. Ditto IIRC leaving Liverpool on the M62, there is no NSL sign. The whole motorway is a 40mph limit:eek: All we ask is for a fair chance. Even though it might be against the law, is it morally right to penalise peeps who are not doing anything dangerous? APJ 15 September 2004, 16:46 This is just getting ludicrous - no doubt these will be positioned outside schools and other potentially hazardous areas and not just inside a spped limit change on the dual carriageways? I don't think so. Thank goodness for laser "garage door openers" is all I can say. carter x 15 September 2004, 17:43 This is just getting ludicrous - no doubt these will be positioned outside schools and other potentially hazardous areas and not just inside a spped limit change on the dual carriageways? I don't think so. Thank goodness for laser "garage door openers" is all I can say. i got one last week ! just waiting for the garage door.................. NOT ;) cosworth lover 15 September 2004, 21:34 last year on my way to rheola went under a bridge on the m4 near margam at 6am in the morning and what was there a speed camera yesthey should use them but 6 in the morning what a waste redhop 15 September 2004, 22:12 this really is gettin a joke, west glam racer & dan cov you are entitled to your own opinion but the camera's are now starting to take the P!$$. the police are out just to make money out of speeding fines and nothing else. i have yet to see a accident at the wales gb rally & all these camera just make drivers worse. the rally brings so much revenue to wales and people are still not happy. if the law in wales ain't happy with all the drivers following the rally then **** it off to somewhere where its appreciated more APJ 15 September 2004, 23:20 Its all down to the "Safety" Camera Partnerships who are run by the police and WI type busy bodies who would view a rally as a nuisance. Hence an ideal time to try and rape sorry reap lots of income. |
