I'd like to cover the centre gauge pod in Alcantara. Its the wavey Defi style one.

Anyone know if its a DIY job or if I'd have to go to a coach works or similar?

would be a tricky job to get looking nice due to the shape. Why not have it flocked instead? similar appearance and probably work out cheaper.
