Are any of the stages this year being shown live on ITV1 like Margam 2 last year? I was loitering in the background last year as Solberg got interviewed by Penny Mallory after his win :)

I think the SuperSpecial in Cardiff on Sunday is live on ITV, but not sure about any others....

Cheers.

Oh right.....surely we get to see enough cars going around in circles every other weekend with F1/BTCC coverage??

i know that its the final stage, but Im hoping the winner will be decided before the Superspecial....

You'd think that Dave Richards would be trying to get the unknowing masses to see what rallying is all about with a proper forest stage....

I couldn't agree more, how can it be more exciting to watch off road circuit racing and it be the last stage in the rally. It's hardly going to be a nail biter as to who wins is it, it would make more of a story to watch them go through Margam like last year. Live in-car footage coupled with all the other great angles would be far better.

Yeah, last years live Margam stage was excellent.

Firstly, I can't believe that the rally is finishing with a Super Special - this seems like a real cr&p idea to me!

Secondly, I can't believe that they've chosen to put the super special as the live televised stage - anyone who's not seen rallying before who tunes in to this is going to get completely the wrong idea - like, how boring!

... is this another example of "dumbing down" rallying?
... dare I say it but, "bring back the old RAC rally"!

I think the logistics are simpler covering the super-special perhaps ITV dont have the same budget for outside broadcasts as CH4 did.

Yes exactly, why pay to see a stage where most of the final positions will bw more or less decided and everybody will be cruising round hoping nothing breaks!!!!! who the hell thought of this??? Just as well film Them off a M4 crossover bridge when they are heading back to service. Guarenteed to be flat out there..http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/images/icons/icon7.gif
ohh and ps is the start at city hall this year? as some are saying yes and some say its at the superspecial.. Which is another bad idea http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/images/icons/icon13.gif as the people that want to support the start, and get close to the cars and crews as in previous yrs, but dont want to pay will be put out. Not good for the popularity stakes. I think its good to see the cars buzzing around the city centre giving a squirt of the throttle in places and sending awesome echos around the place, the kids love to see them and i would say the adults do aswell.. but hey **** happens... anyway enough moaning from me cos everybody seems to be doing it lately.. see you all in the forests http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/images/icons/icon12.gif

Not sure about the start this year either. I remember going to City Hall last year and feeling cheated that there was nothing of much interest there. NO TEAMS?!?! Just model/picture/merchandise sellers. What is the deal with Cardiff??!! When it was held in Cheltnam, the public days there were excellent! All the teams, drivers, cars etc etc Brilliant day out.
