I expressed an interest this year & got the 2004 DVD of the event.
Its a lot tamer than the Gumball.

It costs £10,000 to enter the 2005 Gumball 3000 Rally!!

Although they say you can have two in the car for that! so £5k each - and another £5k if you want to bring a back up crew - but they cannot stay in any of the hotels for that (the back up crew that is)

There is the Cannonball Run Europe. Costs about £2500 to enter. 2004 event started yesterday. I think the website is www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk (http://www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk) or .com

Thing about the Gumball 3000 is that you get accommodation and parties included in the price. All hotels are 5 star and the parties are mental. VIP access all areas passes are included for the Monaco GP also (2005 rally). For me £10,000 for a car of two is justified by the experience you will be getting. So much so that i'm doing the 2006 Gumball 3000!! :norty: :norty: :norty:

There's also the Plymouth to Dakar rally, though the cars I think have to cost no more than £100...!

My brother is co-organiser if this charity rally for cancer research:

http://www.pr-photography-tour.org/

The guys organising this aren't "hooray henry's", just car nuts - got a 944, E28 Bimmer and FTO between them.

Entry is about £2500, with all the money going to cancer research - how about sponsorship for a good cause? (ie. your scooby...)
