View Full Version : Speed Cameras
rjlinney 10 September 2004, 09:21 For anyone who hasn't yet spotted it, there's now a list of "mobile camera locations on roads which competitors and spectators are likely to use when travelling between stages" posted on the WalesRallyGB site.
Here's the link http://www.walesrallygb.com/downloads/files/rgb/Mobile%20Camera%20Deployment.pdf

DanCov 10 September 2004, 13:02 god forbid you could always stick to the speed limits ;) :)
rjlinney 10 September 2004, 13:56 I for one certainly will be - I was just pointing it out for everyone's benefit!
I'm a member of the IAM, so don't tend to be excessively speedy - but all it takes is two or three miles an hour - so it's worth being aware of where they are.

I always do! :norty:
carter x 10 September 2004, 18:01 for all the people who intend to go for it between stages should i say
heres a tip. hire a car same make, model, colour as your boss ,have his plates made up for you at say halfords stick them on the hired car
and go for it !
1 months time see your bosses face when he gets the fines through the post
(this is only intended as a joke dont try it the fine for false plates is way over the top)

slow coach 11 September 2004, 18:42 To all
Speed cameras are hidden in between parked cars at the side of most roads on rally route, drive slow at 15-20mph when you see them & wave and flash your lights this p****** them off. Don't get booked
markpaskin 11 September 2004, 23:16 I imagine that would piss them off !!, I think you'd be facing dangerous driving charges or causing an obstruction or something. They'll find something, don't try it at home or Wales it isn't worth it.
I for one am sticking to the speed limits again as I got caught out 3 years ago when they clamped down on speeding and all the drivers got caught out too.
be warned...
r50mini 12 September 2004, 18:27 Well I hope that South Wales Police will be setting an example.
Last year I was following a Scooby at the Speed Limit (60MPH) when 2 bike cops who we had seen stuffing there fat faces at a Little Chef, came bombing past overtaking me and the scooby, in an inappropriate place.
I used to travel down to West Wales most weekends and have regularly seen Police cars speeding and driving like t**t's. One of my wives friends were stopped for speeding in roadworks and the copper said he was happy as he had just met his quota, cos he was knocking off in half an hour.
carter x 12 September 2004, 18:40 3 years ago we saw a red plumers van (ladders, copper pipe on roof etc) with a camera and the five o sat in the back parked in layby near the mcdonalds on the a465
now to me thats taking the p**s
