Sorry - I didn't realise that they were in any way sensitive or not for discussion.

This is my first Rally and I understood that this was a general "rally fan" thing to do! I've even bought an icom reciever from Maplin especially for the event!

I didn't realise there was a problem.

Richard, 95% of what you listen to on a scanner is illegal! According to the authorities all you can legally listen to are broadcasts and amateur radio. Tuning into the airband, ships or even the local dustcart is a no go area so that includes rally teams too :eek: Incidentally if you hear a Mayday call from a fishing boat and inform the Coastguard you can be prosecuted and have your equipment confiscated :(

All the above is just so you know, I wouldn't want to make you feel paranoid or anything ;) :D

They should never have stopped rally radio then every one would have been kept up to date, not to mention more value for the entry fee. The current "advert FM" station or what ever it's called is rubbish.
