Default WYIOC - Impromptu Fenay Bridge Meet - Thurs 2nd Sept

Posted as promised after the WYIOC run this evening.

Due to several people missing this evenings run (me being one) and therefore not getting our usual injection of club banter and 'Fajitas' and having some serious withdrawl symptoms, I am looking to have an ECM (that's Extraordinary Club Meeting in Chairmans speak) next Thursday.

Usual Thursday night stuff... park over on the right by the tables and then drink some shandies and eat some of the new 2-1 grub with 10% discount of everything for members.. Hopefully outside?

Phil, we'd love you to be there.....

If you haven't been before, you'll be made to feel very welcome..

Normal Wakefield Holmfield Arms convoy for those wishing to have a spritied run in...

It's usually Holmfield Arms at about 7:00 if you're coming from the Wakey area, then on to the 'Bridge' for about 7:30.

Holmfield Arms or "Park Pub" as i know it is on the dual carriage way from the Junction 39 M1 it is on the road heading into Wakefield on the left hand siide first exit on the Mini roundabout.

Fenay Bridge Pub is on Penistone Road (A629) from J39 take the first exit off the roundabout up the very steep hill to my dreaded roundabout (Damged Cheffron sign in a blowout) Take the Third Exit and pass the Black Bull pub on your left. Keep going through the Village of Flockton and the womens prison ( A stop off maybe if you dare ) Keep going until you reach the round about (Grange Moor) take your first left and drop down the hill all the way pass the Subaru garage. (there is a short cut here but ill miss it out for simplicity) Right at the bootom of the hill you will reach some traffic lights, stay in the left hand side lane and turn left almost back on your self. Very quickly you will pass Morrisons. Keep going and the Fenay bridge pub is further down on your right hand side. You will have gone too far down the road when on the right you see a sign for " Connection Seating) even further down is another pub called "the fox something( Do a U turn using your handbrake and head back towards Morrisons.)

I hope thats all right. I may have missed something so feel free to fill in the missing bits.

Dom

Manda.. as Dom says (but with a little more detail)

The Holmfield Arms is a few Miles off J39 on the Wakefield side. You pass over two mini roundabouts and pass under the railway as you head towards the Mazda JCT600 garage at the Cathedral Retail park. The Holmfield is straight off the third Mini-roundabout (Thornes Lane) BEFORE the Mazda garage. If you miss it and go over the roundabout, Thornes park will be on your left. Double back at the Mazda Garage..

Meet right at the bottom near the road (as some have parked up in the pub were you can't be seen). We'll be leaving there at 7:10 for the 20 minute run in...

The Fenay Bridge is, as Dom says, on the A629 out of Huddersfield. It is right on the junctions of the Fenay Lane & Station Rd on the right.. you can't miss it..

If you join us the Holmfield. You wont have to worry about that..

Cheers Dom..

Phil, I've been pot-holing in Inglewotsit. Went from a sedate walk to a terrifying crawl-for-your-life within a very short space of time. If they take you into a biggish gorge and through a wide opening then up to yer knees in water, start sh!tting yourself!

Then there Gaping Gill, don't even go there. Sit in an ally chair with a safety catch similar to those on a childs seat on a swing, and lowered into a chasm that's deeper than York Minster.

HEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLPPPPPP!!!!!!!!

*cough*

Got the custard pie today, BTW. MMMMMMmmmmmmm. Nice.

Ingleborough, Whernside, and Penyghent. The three peaks challenge. Knew I'd heard of it before. Some 'daft' folk run up and down the three of 'em for a laugh!!!!
