God I hope it stays nice... Apart from a bit of drizzle to keep the dust under control!
ddb85 23 August 2004, 16:12 hopefully it will be dry :D
Jonnip74 23 August 2004, 16:14 mmmm,
but who belives the weather forcasts!
It'll probably be snowing!
ddb85 23 August 2004, 16:18 this was last years september weather summary:
12th to 17th
An anticyclone which formed over the UK drifted east to the near continent retaining the region under its influence. Dry, sunny and very warm or hot weather prevailed, 28.4 °C being recorded at Gravesend in Kent on the 17th. Patchy mist and fog in the morning cleared quickly.
18th to 22nd
A cold front was stalled over north Wales and northern England for much of the period, bringing rain to these parts, often heavy and prolonged. The rest of England and Wales continued to bask in very warm sunny weather, with any mist or fog patches being readily burnt off after dawn. The cold front advanced south during the 22nd providing some heavy and much needed rain to the region. In the south-east, temperature drops of 10 °C in less than an hour were noted in many places.
hopefully the same this year! :)
Jonnip74 06 September 2004, 10:52 Its still looking good...
Met Office says....
(Valid for 30 August 2004 to 26 September 2004)
High pressure is expected to build over southern parts of the UK and remain established throughout the period. This is expected to give fine, warm, sunny weather across this area, with below average rainfall and near or above normal temperatures. Northern areas are likely to see more unsettled conditions with near average temperatures, rainfall and sunshine.
Fingers Crossed!!!!:)
Scoobychick 06 September 2004, 14:39 Fingers crossed for rain here!!! The Rally of Wales was very dry this year and the dust was awful, spectating spots were determined purely by the direction of the wind and even though we were largely stood out of the direct line of the dust we were filthy by the end of the day!
It's not so much of a problem for those of us that have nice warm showers to go to at the end of the day but I wouldn't fancy spending three days sleeping in a car...
Don't forget your dust masks folks :D
Jonnip74 06 September 2004, 15:02 But doesn't the taste of dust and your car changing colour over the four days seem appealing.....
Or am I just a bit weird..... (dont answer that!)LOL:freak3:
English Racer 10 September 2004, 10:11 The forecast doesn't look so good now. This is the forecast for Swansea:

I don't mind a bit of rain. Weather in 2001 was horrendous but being sprayed with mud and rocks as Burns came past was awesome.
Scoobychick 10 September 2004, 10:35 Weather in 2001 was horrendous
*Shudder* Yes, I remember standing out in the pouring rain for seven hours at Rheola
DanCov 10 September 2004, 11:20 Bring on the lashing rain and arctic temperatures!

Senior Marshal 10 September 2004, 12:44 Yep 2001 was pretty moist year.... 8 hours in the forest on Trawscoed, to then be sent home without seeing a rally car courtesy of Carlos' Brechfa incident.

You would say that staying in a Travel Lodge( which are not very good)

Chris L 12 September 2004, 21:50 Well the latest forecasts I saw today, just showed rain Wales for the whole week :) Nothing new there then.... Only difference is that it shouldn't be tha cold (about 18 degrees) by WRGB standards.
colex 12 September 2004, 22:04 For what its worth, as an ex-forecaster, I reckon it will be on the dry side (some light showers) and pretty warm for mid Sept (20C).

Cant wait, and hey, never seen anyone shrink in the rain yet... (Close on epynt last year!!! LOL!!!)
DanCov 14 September 2004, 12:41 it'd be nice if it was like last year dry but muddy :D you'd think us northerners would be used to the cold but I nearly froze solid at halfway last year had to prop myself up against a gate :)
