Hi,
My partner has a radiator that is leaking from the bottom part of the seam. It's a special sized radiator so a replacement will cost a fair packet.
Does anyone know of a way or product that could seal this leak as she can't really afford to fork out £800 for a new one ?
Thanks,
Darren
As far as I know there is nothing you can put in like radweld etc...I think it will have to come off the wall. I have used epoxy putty before now to seal troublesome leaks on diesel pipes. You could also pop it into your local sheet matal workshop where the will grind out the rust and MIG weld it, you could also do a search for tank manufacturers in your area as they will have the gear to pressure test it aswell - this saves the hassle of refitting it to find its still leaking.
80 quidish...??

agree with above, disconnect it, drain it, get it off the wall then you will have a better idea what you can do.

If it is a small leak(weep) then you could try as a tempory measure only,Fernox superconcentrate leak sealer,it comes in a cartridge so you can pump it into the rad with a silicon gun-instructions come with the product.
Fernox is about £30 inc vat from plumbing merchants.
Silicon gun is about £7 from diy stores.
Its pretty good stuff-but dont forget, its only a temp job.
