Well done to Shirley, Sarah and Sarah - won the Ynglinng class with a race to spare.

And Ben is guaranteed a silver in the Finn - 14 points clear with one race to go - sounds like the Spaniard in second might be given a sail down on Saturday!
Nick and Joe down to second but only two points behind the yanks in the 470 with one race to go.

Great isn't it.. yet again, the sailing team look set to bring home more medals than all the rest put together :D
And how much coverage do they get?

things is, nobody really understands the sport. People dont get what is going on pre-start, nor do people get going upwind...
Some of those shots of Ben pumping that finn were pretty damn good...
Come on you 49er boys!

I don't understand wtf the offside rule is, or half the rules in any of the olympic sports.. but they can be explained :)

Apart from Ben Ainslie's amazing adaptation to the Finn from the Laser, what fills me with pride is the depth in talent and domination that Team GB has in sailing.
It just goes to show what proper training facilities and excellent back room staff can do when combined with decent talent. Let's just hope that other disciplines can learn from it and adopt these techniques.
And Nick Dempsey wins bronze in the Mistral.
Percy/Mitchell only 4 points off 3rd in the Star with three to go. 49er decider tomorrow too. As a cat sailor I'm just a bit disappointed we're doing so badly in the T. Still, good 3rd place in race 8 today.
