View Full Version : Hang on, if there's footy in the Olympics why aren't we in it? PeteT 15 August 2004, 21:01 As above really, why isn't there a GB team in the olympic football? gljam 15 August 2004, 21:05 something to do with the fact that we normally compete as England, Scotland, Wales etc, if we were to compete as GB i think it affects our standing in UEFA or is against UEFA rules?? something along those lines anyway.... Leslie 16 August 2004, 10:42 Theres no money in it! tucker101uk 16 August 2004, 10:44 cos we're crap! lightning101 16 August 2004, 10:47 Also - why is boxing the only sport that professionals can't compete in, in the olympics ? darts_aint_sport 16 August 2004, 10:50 Something to do with the fact that we don't have a British FA, probably linked to what gljam is saying. lightning101 16 August 2004, 10:55 Oh and why no womens boxing ? unclebuck 16 August 2004, 11:03 who cares? nobody in Greece seems to judging by the virtually empty stadiums. TelBoy 16 August 2004, 11:04 Nobody cares who the Olympic football winners are. Makes me wonder why they bother. Brendan Hughes 16 August 2004, 11:50 English FA are only good at the Synchronised Shagging event, anyway. Leslie 17 August 2004, 07:41 Are they actually able to get that together then Brendan?
