Anyone heard of this?

Is it a legit organisation or another way of persuading us unsuspecting house owners to part with our hard-earned readies?

I'm having a flat roof re-felted and one of the firms claim to be a member of this confederation .

We belong to the National Federation of Roofing Contractors. I have a lovely sticker saying so on my van, think it cost our company to join and also had to prove a suitable standard of work to achieve membership. We are now also all having to achieve an NVQ in roofing:) Perhaps ask the people to give some examples of work they,ve done locally before you make any sort of decision, unfortunatly there are certainly alot of roofers out there that should not be allowed up a ladder.

Mainly the bigger companies are involved with this scheme,main things to watch out for are that they use a vented base layer,an underlay,and an SBS felt............and if its being re-felted that the deck is in good condition.

Also make sure they have heat/fire cover on there liability insurance,you,d be suprized how many dont have it. :)
