quick tool question :) does anyone use a "cordless autofeed makita screwgun" going to buy one but the fact it is only a 12vlt battery is puttting me off, im still going to buy a corded one as well. but would like to know the battery life of the 12vlt battery in these guns on permanent use , approx how long in hours before next charge :)

Makita and Dewalt are far superior to B&D and Bosh which are usually intended for home use. Chippys in work with me always have two batteries with their cordless so that when one is in use the other is on charge. The batteries takes as little as 1 hour to charge, so i would think with "constant" use an hours not unreasonable

Steve,I'v been in the drylining/stud partitioning trade for quite a few years having used all types of drywall screw guns in variouse forms the best guns i have every used are made by hilti they also do a battery version with the battery on a pack which clips to your belt there robust and stand up to a lot of hammer the makita with the belt fed screws are a right pain to use by the time you have fitted a new clip you could have had another couple of boards up and fixed with the hilti .

dont do 24 volt on auto feed screw guns , ive got a choice between paying £350 out for two 12vlt makita cordless ones (persimmon homes discount :) ) or go with gussy's choice and pay £500 plus vat for a hilti 18vlt one  going to have a look at the hilti one tomorrow, but it will have to be something special

Dont bother with cordless... no need.. ever been on a site without power?

you dont get supplied with power on the houses :( so in the long run the cordless will save me a fortune in petrol :D
