What a pain in the ****! I haven't got proof of my alarm/immobiliser, there was nothing like that with the paperwork other than an instruction manual for it. (MY00, factory fitted alarm.)

MY02 STI UK came with a Factory (Subaru) fitted Sigma M30 and a CAT 1 certificate.
I believe that an alarm shop can issue new certificates (for a price probably), after checking that the alarm is fitted.

I have a My00 too, but have a receipt / certificate from the original main agent sale. if you have any proof of purchase try going back to the main agent and ask for proof of installation. They may help you out.... you never know....

good luck

Unfortunately mine was second-hand so no certificate.

However Tesco's now say i can get my dealer to write a letter confirming it will have a standard fit cat 1 alarm. grrr

if you do get a cert sorted out for your alarm what ever you do don't send them the originals. I was caught out with that one, they lost both my alarm and tracker install certs. After months of trying to wriggle out of it they finally agreed to pay out for replacements which i went and got, about £80 worth including expenses and i never saw a cheque from them ever. Numerous phone conversations and lots of yes sir the cheque will go in the post today.
Needless to say not insured with Tesco any more.

Dan.

I told them my MY00 UK T2000 wagon had a factory fitted alarm/imob and they didn't ask for proof. I went with them as Direct line said I needed a tracker fitted.

I'm 31, have full NCB (protected), no points/convictions and paid £580 (inc legal aid) to Churchill when I insured it the end of last October. The excess is £350.
How does that compare to Tesco ?
