mine has to be 2001, when the burnsmeister won the title, yeh i know he didnt win the rally, but i was right next to the finish at margam when he won and the atmosphere was electric. :D

Cool.......My first rally I ever saw was in 1997, Margam Park last stage of the rally.....Colin McRae in a Subaru WRC, first rally car I ever saw....awesome experience! Since then I have been hooked!

1998 & 1999 were good seasons, good entry of cars and stages were spread out more than now!

If you think the rally is busy now and the traffic is bad then you obviously werent on the RAC 1986.

Same as Chip for me, the mid eighties and Group B cars. The good ol` days when it was the Lombard RAC, a proper rally.

Same here, they pass my house en-route to the Rhondda and Rheola stages :)

Early eighties for me - especially in the Scottish forests.
Remember the Audi's dominating the event when they appeared on the scene - awesome.

Also, remeber being in the Sweet Lamb bowl the year Colin won - that was one hell of a party.

One of my favourites was 1984 - waiting for Ari to appear in the 205. 1986 (as discussed above) was the GpB heyday and was awesome but I think 1995 when McRae won the World Championship has to be my top one.

1995 the year Colin showed how to Donut a Scoob properly I was 12 and from that day on i was hooked on A,Rallying B,Subaru and C,Colin McRae

1986 for me also, first year ever, saw 2 stages, 1 in the lake district, Kershope from what I recall, as it was our first year went totally unprepared, no waterproofs, walking boots, hat etc, it was wet and cold!!!
