Anyone going to Finland this year?

We're taking a car from Sweden across on the Ferry for the Sat & Sun. Looking for tips or to catch up with others from here that are making the trip.

Then you'll need to get the stages REALLY early! The Finns know all the best viewing spots and pack them out, so if you want to be near the front....
If you don't mind settling for lesser spots, or views from the back, you can fit several stages in in one day.
Prepare to be plastered in dust and to have a BRILLIANT time!

yup i will be there, travelling over from the uk. it passes through my mate's farm, so hopefully will be sat on top of a barn if the crowd gets tight!

Yeah, certainly would be handy. It's pretty hard to figure out where the stages are from the dodgy map they supply.

As for stages, our ferry doesn't get in to Helsinki until 9:30am Sat. We're going to try for SS14, 16 & 18 and whatever we can fit on Sunday, maybe just 20 and 22. Pitty Sunday is so short! Curse having to work.

If you see a blue Volvo wagon with the 'S' country sticker on the back - that's probably us.

Yep, it's a bit bare. Best used alongside an actual map of the region :)

I know it's a little late for forward planning, but you can pick up the rally guide in a gas station on the way...

I'm hoping that they're a bit more detailed (not too hard). I hope to be able to do some planning in the car as soon as we get a hold of one of those guides. I've got two pices or mapping software for my laptop and they're about as useless as... well lets just say they'll tell me I'm in Finland :)

Guess I should have convinced someone to show us last years map, would have got us into the general area I guess.

Yes, unfortunately as we know now that was true. I did get a chance to appreciate the first part of the Super Rally system (I won't start on the points side of things). We didn't get in until later on Saturday but still got to see Petter, Mikko and Harry running on the stages on those last two days.

Problem is that there aren't any comments and there are a lot of pics from our trip over/back (it took longer to get there and back than we got to spend at the rally!)

Yep he has wrapped up some cars! As someone stated in another post, that it would have been better for McRae to drive this season! Can't wait til sat as he at Castle Coombe.....yipppeeee :)

I laughed too! I bet his bosses gave him such a bollocking! .....then I left as it was sooooooo busy, and I didn't fancy queing ages for a bus!

We saw him out on Sunday night, and he seemed to be good fun though!

Turned out better than mine :) Gave up with the camera and started filming things - clips soon! But for now, here's one that wasn't blurred...

Cool, I've got some clips too but need to do a fair bit of work to make them "web-friendly". Not sure when I'll get a chance to though, off to Norway (home of PS :D) for a quick run around tonight...
