View Full Version : Last Years Programmes ?? Mr.Mcrae2004 18 July 2004, 19:07 hi, are they worth anything or should i just use them for loo paper for this year ? West Glam Racer 18 July 2004, 20:10 I always hang onto the programs which Ive had from past events! More so the ones which show the complete stage route! Okay the more recent WRC GB programmes such as the 2002 & 2003 programmes only show that stage routes which are adjacent to the official speccy areas! But they are still handy if you want to use them instead of pulling out massive O/S Landranger maps etc etc of a particular area! Sometimes Ive used it for national events. Okay it doesent show the route on there but, if a stage is named e.g Trawscoed then atleast its something to work to in terms of the stage and the surrounding area! Or more recently Walters Arena it just gives you an overall view or a rough idea where that area is! More than recently I wanted to go for a mountain bike trail through Rheola forest! I could place that in my backpack and hey presto use it with ease! Hope this helps WGR ddb85 18 July 2004, 20:50 you may as well keep them because most of the speccy areas are the same this year, and as they arent giving out programmes till u get to the stage - so you can use the maps in there. Why are they giving the programmes out at the gate. Its nice to just browse through it before the rally starts etc. Is it just that its cost of postage etc? WGR yeh i know, it was better when they sent them to us! West Glam Racer 18 July 2004, 21:03 Or is it just an excuse incase they end up sending them late! :) rallymad_homer 20 July 2004, 17:32 wgr, im the same mate always keep hold of my progs, never know when they can come in handy. heres one for ya: i got hold of os maps of the areas where the stages have been for the past few years and laminated them. this way you can write on them with marker pen so u know where the route/car parks are, its waterproof (handy i find in them there forests ;)) easy to clean and u can use them year after year !!. its the way forward !!! Homer ddb85 20 July 2004, 17:46 if anyone hasnt been b4 or hasnt got last years programme and wants a map for the stage they are going to this year, i can scan in the maps from lasts years programme if you tell me which ones you want! then you can print them out. HomerHiya buddy, Thats a grand idea I must say! I will have to do the same with my maps. Do you have your own laminater or do you get it done at the printers! Ive seen some laminaters on sale for about twenty odd quid but have been hesitant in buying one as I don't know what the quality would turn out like! Let me know if have such a machine and the make aswell and would definately buy one! :) Cheers mate WGR rallymad_homer 21 July 2004, 08:30 WGR, its rather good where i work mate coz thats where i get all my maps and there is a wacking great huge laminator there which i can use when ever i want so its rather handy. Now i know that doesnt help u tho mate, ummm i would say that if there isnt one at ur place of work then i would get it done properly by the printers, it will only be a few quid but worth it in my opinion. sorry i couldnt be more helpfull bud Homer Scoobychick 21 July 2004, 09:13 My parents bought a cheap laminator and it's been brilliant for doing stage maps etc :) ddb85 21 July 2004, 14:09 heres a good cheap one from argos : http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&langId=-1&catalogId=1751&productId=92492 West Glam Racer 21 July 2004, 20:12 Thanks folks I will be considering buying one!
