Just about to do this myself and the height I want it at is above the DPC which I presume will cause problems even if I leave a small gap between the decking and the wall? briggo 13 September 2004, 22:18 Nick no problems with decking above the dpc m8 its not like bridging the dpc with say a path,as the decking its, self is unable to bridge the damp proof course with it been timber, but if you are concerned about this like you said leave a10mm gap _Nick_ 14 September 2004, 10:30 Ok thanks briggo, I've read about leaving a gap but thought that the rain might splash up against the wall but i'll give it a go anyway. sonicsbro 14 September 2004, 14:42 Thanks Nick, The decking is just below the DPC, and I got 3 tonnes of slate chippings around the sides of the house that are about 6" delow DPC...just to be on the safe side...
