having signed Lomano Lua Lua for a snip,
potentially selling Amdy Faye to Fulham (gutted but for a good price) and hence freeing up the funds to (fingers crossed) make the Alexei Smertin deal permanent, I should say that although nobody down here expects an easy ride this coming season, survival is looking good for another year.

chap at work is a season ticket holder (has been for 20+years). i have been to fratton with him a few times and can say the fans create the best atmosphere of any ground i have ever been to. that kjc stand is something else.

As for Smertin, he has been effectively told he has no future at Chelski, we want him on loan but if Faye goes to Fulham (although it looks like he will turn them down) then the money will hopefully go towards a Smertin buy out.
