After what seemed like an age I have finally collected my CBR. Rode it to the MOT centre this morning and it passed with flying colours. Aside from a dodgy fuel tap and buying a decent battery charger its been excellent so far.

Its sitting outside in the works car park and I'm just dying to get out and ride it but I need to sort the tax out so will do that tomorrow when I drive the car in (poxy weather)

Oh yeah, jeez is it quick. Forgot just how rapid these things are :D

Pics!!! Put up some pics!!!! :D I am still thinking about getting one of thse as my next bike as they are so bullet proof and can rack up the miles with no problems and being so dirt cheap means they can't depreciate any further and I only ride for commuting, I do so many miles during the week i'm not up for going out at the weekend. My gixer is doing just fine and I love it but I will still lose money on it. If when I come to sell it on before the mileage goes astronomical I can find a low mileage VFR/CBR/RVF then it might well end up being mine. Will have gone full circle then, 400 - 600 - 1000 - 750 - 400. At the moment running costs and depreciation are the biggest factor for me, the whole reason for getting rid of the R1 (which I miss massively and always will).

I had the red white and blue one with full dodgy Japanese race system on it and no wadding in the can ;) Sounded fecking amazing :D

I don't know about the chargers, I nver needed to charge mine in the 5 years I had it - the thing was the most resilient, bullet proof indestructable bike I have ever owned :D I did more damage to it kicking the crap out of it when I high sided it than the actual crash damage which turned out to be just scratches and a smashed mirror and cracked screen  plus I nearly broke my foot :D

Yep, top bike mate!! I still miss mine and like B2Z am also thinking of getting another :)

If you are having battery charging problems then the first place to look is the regulator / rectifier, the only weak point of the 400 Hondas. These are located under the seat cowling and can be tested with a multimeter.

Optimate is as good as any decent battery charger if you want to go for one, but make sure you get the reg / rec checked if the problem persists.

Enjoy a great bike :D :D

Matt
