View Full Version : Photo competition - Round 9 - 'Entertainment' - Discussion
AndyC_772 12 July 2004, 19:13 Following on from the success that was round 8...
The theme for round 9 of the photo competition is 'Entertainment'.
As always, interpret the theme as widely as you like. So, photograph a concert or sporting event, any sort of games or puzzles, a person or animal being entertained and so on.
Competition entries go here (http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=343972) with discussion in this thread. The previous round went on rather a long time, so I propose that the last day for entries is 26th July which is just two weeks away - that still gives two weekends for shooting.
Good luck everyone :)
*Sonic* 12 July 2004, 19:15 got a few ideas for this already, hopefully time permitting I can get some pics done :)
farmer1 15 July 2004, 14:12 Just got back from Cyprus so will post a few pictures of some of the "entertaining" scenes I saw in the last 2 days :D

AndyC_772 18 July 2004, 14:49 Quite a few off-topic photos this round... :(
imlach 18 July 2004, 14:51 I know what you mean but I guess "entertainment" is quite vague - maybe a duck is someone's idea of entertainment!!!
Who knows....
ScoobyK 18 July 2004, 14:56 Andy, if you're referring to my photos, feel free to delete my post though the intro to the comp includes games and puzzles ????
Quite a few off-topic photos this round... :(
ditto
AndyC_772 18 July 2004, 15:43 I think at the end of the day it's up to the voters to decide what's on-topic and what isn't. I think it's only fair to comment in advance, though, in case people want to resubmit.
ScoobyK, your pics are definitely on topic, though they are rather large and exceed the 120kb limit. Resize them to (say) 800x600 and <120k and they're fine.
Imlach, if you choose to entertain yourself with a duck then I don't want to know... ;)
AndyC_772 18 July 2004, 15:45 ps. yes, it's meant to be vague - that opens up plenty of scope for creative interpretation. That said, I just can't see how a herd of goats could... actually, let's not go there
ScoobyK 18 July 2004, 16:02 Thanks Andy...if only I knew how to resize them !

LOL :)
I was on a boat on the Norfolk broads, pretty entertaining I thought.
darlodge 18 July 2004, 19:40 Glenn,
I've resized your pics but I don't have your e-mail address.

Perhaps it was just one of those moments were you had to be there, after driving round mountains for hours and coming round the corner to get stuck behind goats was rather entertaining at the time.
However I am happy to remove it if people find it off-topic.
ScoobyK 19 July 2004, 07:31 Thanks Darren, you have pm.

darlodge 19 July 2004, 22:36 ScoobyDoo555,
That pic would be so much better of the landrover was not in the background  but ho hum, still a great pic though :)

darlodge 29 July 2004, 23:28 Well its that time again. Keep an eye open for the polls
Does anyone have an oponion on how the polls should be run this round.
There is a low number of entries, so maybe we should just choose our favourite pic, instead of the whole points thing (http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=342176&highlight=competition)
Darren
John Catlin 30 July 2004, 08:21 Carry on with the points as the last round.
Can give people a bit of encouragement.
We have a number of diverse topics for entertainment !
scoobyp1 30 July 2004, 09:05 i bet they aint diverse as my ideas.........
darlodge 02 August 2004, 20:18 Boing Boing,
The voting thread is now up here (http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?p=3585067#post3585067)

ScoobyDoo555 02 August 2004, 22:51 I was a bit unsure about the "Entertainment" aspect, but it certainly kept the 4-yr old daughter entertained!!!
Agreed. Shame about the Landy!!!
Dan :D
