View Full Version : Best Alarm Mark A 08 March 2001, 18:21 Just bought 94 WRX & need to get a decent alarm/immobilser, had thought about a toad but after reading general posting decided not to. local VSIB installer recommend an autowatch 160 any good ? Just make sure the installer doesn't put the bonnet switch by the rain gutter of the front wing. (D'oh, everytime it rained my alarm went off). The've since moved it to the middle. hutton_d 12 March 2001, 11:10 OK. Someone has to be different..... I've got a Cobra. No fancy stuff - just a Cat 1 alarm etc. One button on the fob that turns it off and also turns it on. Hey - what else do you need?? Oh, and a panic button as well. About £300 installed. Zero false alarms so far. IMHO as long as it's Cat 1 then no worries. You can pay an absolute fortune for alarms with all sorts of gadgets but I'm the sort of person that, for example, programs up their pre-sets on the radio once then switches it on and off only for the next year.
