Does anyone have the fuelguard module fitted on their 600.
My fitter was advised by Clifford to remove it ASAP or engine management would be damaged. I thought this was just on grey imports and not UK models.

I never had any problems on my 98 Turbo, either.

Never heard of it. There was a problem with some Concept 600s on WRX/STIs (sorry James M http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif) due to the wiring loom being too noisy to carry the signal to open the fuel guard, but that was preventing start-up, not damaging the ECU.
Will check with my friendly local installer and edit this post as appropriate.

Just spoken to friendly local installer, and Clifford themselves (bolt and braces approach: I trust him implicity)
There is no such issue.
There was a problem on some STIs/WRXs a year ago which was down to the electrical environment of these cars being extrememly noisy. Clifford have issued a hardware fix for those that need it.
It will not damage your ECU, according to Clifford! http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/smile.gif
Get that fuelguard on ASAP, it's a really useful feature of the alarm!

The only problem is that the turbo timer is not compatible with the fuelguard, so you can't have both. http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/frown.gif
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
Thanks,
Jamie

Yep: don't run a turbo timer. They are very likely to invalidate your theft insurance, as anything that plays with the immobilisation of a Cat 1 (or Cat 2) alarm invalidates the VSIB certificate.
Sorry this isn't much use, but I'd hate to see someone get burned on this one.

Spoke to my clifford dealer and he said that there was a problem with the latest (at the time) version 5 STIs. He knew of nothing else since.
