i can pull the front wheel up when im in the garadge i can get it up for like 2 seconds but i dont get it up to the balance point it just stays quite low to the floor. I can wheelie for ages on my pedal bike. Is my technique wrong?

How are you trying to do it? You should have no problem at all wheelying that bike. They're easy enough to flip so no reason you shouldn't be getting the bike to balancing point.

Nice bike mate :)

Try a little bit of clutch in 2nd. You'll have to try this at progresivly higher revs, and do you have a back protector???!!!!??

Whilst slowly accelerating whip the clutch in, give it a handfull of revs and as the revs start to drop back down let the clutch out really quickly. The front should come up quite quickly but smoothly!! Control height with throttle, and if it starts to get a bit worrying then a dab of back brake will bring you back down to earth :)

What happened to first gear then

Second gear, roll the throttle on and just before it hits the power band roll it off and back on again. This will load the front wheel and then unload it but be carefull as it might come up a bit quick. If you catch it right the power should just feed in nice and you will be able to control it.
Let us know how you get on.

im sorry i find it very hard to believe that you cannot wheelie that bike!

the bike will power wheelie in 4th,

so im guessing your one of the following.

1. your full of sh!t
2. your grannie is teaching you to ride
or 3. your a pussy.

at the risk that this is above board, get back on the field you are on in the picture, get in 3rd, at about 30 miles per hour at quarter revs, and open her up, I can guarentee that you will wheelie!

jamo :D

Pleased to here you managed it, how did it come up Gradually or nearlly flipped?.
If you manage it for a while (get used to it) you will be able to feather the front wheel up and down for ages. Possibly klick up and up the gears.

the furst time i just dropped the clutch and it nearly flipped, i put the clutch back in to drop the front wheel down. i found the one that bybyr1 was the best it didnt flip at all i could get it going for a while i did it today and got into third but it just dropped straight away every time!!!. it will get better as time goes.
Only been riding for 6 months :-)

Went out for a play on a (private) road today on my ZX6R.

I've been wheelieing for a while in 1st by snapping the throttle open at 6k and dropping it down towards the 14k redline (about 50). I've manages to change up into 2nd before but the front would just drop, but today I managed to find the balance point in 2nd :D (about 55-60 ish). Its a fair bit quicker in 2nd when your up there !.

Get the front up in 2nd gear rather than 1st, then you'll have a lot more range before you need to change up.

Get the front up in 2nd gear rather than 1st, then you'll have a lot more range before you need to change up.
It won't lift on the throttle in 2nd to the balance point, and it wont lift on the clutch either (just slips before biting). Its on standard gearing and I don't want to drop a tooth on the front sprocket.

1st to 2nd is not the problem on the back wheel, but changing at the right revs at the balance point was a bit more of a challenge. Its gratifying to be able to do it after trying for while - Its just part of the learning curve.
